Far from the ideal father, Arthur Brown pretty much abandoned his wife and daughter, so much so that Stephanie first donned the purple and blue out of revenge to listen in on her dad's plans, then plant clues to make sure that Batman and Robin would capture him. He has demonstrated no love for her, and has had her kidnapped, threatened, and almost killed. Still, when Stephanie was faced with the choice of letting him escape or face the fury of the Huntress (who would have possibly killed him to prevent the cycle of jail and escape and crime from continuing), shechose to let him get away. She did later, entrust Robin's less bloodthirsty methods to bring her dad to justice.
